Support for people working with youth
Stress triggers a range of physical and mental health symptoms, weakening the immune system, making it difficult to focus attention, and causing fatigue.
Prolonged stress may increase risk of heart disease and other ailments. Stress also depletes mental stamina. Common symptoms include irritability, mood swings and exhaustion, which may escalate into depression, anxiety and lower quality of life. (1)
These symptoms are often identified by teachers and parents reporting high stress -- and the consequences are far-reaching. Not only is stress associated with high teacher turnover and parent burnout, but stress can also deeply effect the young people in their care through a process known as stress contagion.
PRivate coaching and small groups
Supporting the path of people working with youth is especially dear to us.
We are happy to meet with you, or your small group, and discover if mindfulness, self-care, or stress-reduction strategies might be a support.
Private coaching is available for teachers, parents, and counselors, and also for children, and teens.
Sessions are typically 30-60 minutes and include creating a plan to meet your unique needs that may include mindfulness and meditation practice, mindful movement, self-care strategies, inquiry or journaling practices, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Teens (& Teachers!), or elements from the Mindful Schools curriculum.
We are able to meet with you in person in Sonoma, Napa, or Marin county or by Skype.
