Green Gulch Farm
On the first Sundays of most months, Green Gulch Farm offers children and families a chance to practice together…
Green Gulch is a 7-acre biodynamic farm — and it is also a practice center in the Japanese Soto Zen tradition offering training in Zen meditation.
Children and families are invited to spend the first few minutes of the Youth & Family Program inside the mediation hall, listening to the bells, feeling the stillness of the hall, and hearing a short talk offered just for the children and families. Then the young people, along with their parents, head outside for fun and mindful, family-friendly activities on the farm.
Families are welcome to sign-in before the program. Advance registration is not required. Suggested donation to Green Gulch Farm Zen Center is $20 per family, or as your means allow. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
Participating families are invited to stay for tea, muffins, and the farmer’s market. Lunch in the dining hall features the delicious, organic food grown on site.

Chelsea first attended the Green Gulch Farm Children’s Program in 2008 with her daughter, then just four years old. She is happy to direct parents interested in Zen to this center where many experienced teachers are available for practice support. The content shared with children is secular, nature-based, and available as a booklet in the Green Gulch Farm Welcome Center.
