WHAT does psychotherapy with Joyful mind project look LIKE?
LIBERATORY
Where some models of psychotherapy place pathology within the individual, a liberatory approach applies critical consciousness, situating the psychological difficulties faced by individuals in the context of the larger cultural, racial, and socioeconomic conditions in which they are arising.
COLLABORATIVE
Our initial sessions are dedicated to cultivating a trusting relationship, building rapport, and assessing current psycho-spiritual needs. We’ll work in partnership, collaborating to bring forward your inherent strengths or to support the growth, resilience, and empowerment of your child or teen.
INTEGRATIVE
Our work together will integrate elements from different schools of psychological theory and research. We might incorporate somatic mindfulness practices, dreamwork, eco-therapy, spiritual inquiry, or other elements that support you in the context of your culture and your life.
an EQUITY MODEL based in generosity and community care
All services are provided through an equity model, with fees ranging from $225.00 per session to as low as $60.00 per session. When you pay at the higher end of this scale, you help make this service available to people historically denied access to mental health resources. We also work to source funding and make free services available to people who would otherwise not have access to mental health care.
